I think I'm going to work on the categories, and I might fiddle with the sidebar organization.

Posted by ChrisAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8182098.post-1103589174534284372004-12-20T18:32:00.000-06:002004-12-20T18:32:00.000-06:00I actually like a lot of the way it is now, as far...I actually like a lot of the way it is now, as far as basic format goes; but a lot of the best features of the layout would easily be preserved in a new template, as long as it was fairly simple and straightforward, if you decided to go that route. Given the sort of content you have, I like Richard's idea of coming up with a category system.

It's also a bit unusual to have the previous posts list at the bottom of the sidebar, although your sidebar content at present is short enough that it isn't actually a problem.

I think posts in Pig Latin would get very annoying very quickly; but pictures of your son are always welcome!

Posted by BrandonAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8182098.post-1103532274277658322004-12-20T02:44:00.000-06:002004-12-20T02:44:00.000-06:00Hey, I just spent two night re-doing my template. ...Hey, I just spent two night re-doing my template. It's a drag. I like the look of your blog. Keep it simple, clean and lean. Loads faster that way, and it is easier on the eyes.

Posted by coturnixAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8182098.post-1103522353780519692004-12-19T23:59:00.000-06:002004-12-19T23:59:00.000-06:00Hey, that's a great suggestion. But as a "meta" suggestion, I'd recommend more hyperlinks to connect your posts (for example, you often mention an old post without actually linking to it).

You might even consider creating a set of 'category' posts (like on my sidebar) to arrange your archives by topic. It's a fair bit of work to get started, but easy enough to maintain, and it would be convenient to be able to quickly find your old posts on (say) metaphor, etc.

(It's not a big deal though, and if you can't be bothered, I guess we can always fall back on the search bar!)

Posted by RichardAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
